 Here’s the latest breakthrough in lower cost, higher output amorphous film technology. For higher efficiency and lower production costs, each cell is composed of three spectrum-sensitive semiconductor junctions stacked on top of each other. Blue light sensitive on top, green in the middle, red on the bottom. This gives 30% more output per square foot than previous Uni-Solar products. Like all previous Uni-Solar products these flexible, unbreakable modules are deposited on a stainless steel backing with DuPont’s Tefzel glazing and, due to unique construction, have the ability to continue useful output during partial shading. Frames are anodized aluminum. Large weatherproof junction boxes are supplied on 64-, 42- and 32-watt modules. Wire pigtails are supplied on 21-, 11-, and 5-watt sizes.
The unbreakable construction and good resistance to heat-fading makes these modules an excellent choice for RVs, or any site where vandalism is a possibility.
The new triple-junction technology brings the price down to a level equal to or better than single crystal technology. Like all amorphous modules, power output will fade approximately 15% over the first month or two. Rated power is post fade, and is warranted for 20 years.
